Basically I don't wanna go there and waste my time, and only to get myself rejected. So now I'm still considering *think think think*
Oh yea, for the PC users out there.. has anyone tried the new MSN messenger 7.0 (BETA)? It's quite cool ya noe, lotsa new features.. try it! Also, found that MSN has a new space for BLOGS n photos. It's call SPACES ... a "can try" for those who don't like blogger and would prefer to try something else.
Ok lah.. I think that's about it... I'll penned off for now. Hope to see y'all in 2005!!! Happy New Year in advanced~

You can say whatever you want, after all that's what you always do. And why are you getting so defensive and uptight? You said please update on the following, and you didn't remove the sept bill issue, of cos I'll think that you're still referring to that. And my reply is that I've already passed it to daniel. So why the CAPS? If my attitude is bad, then yours ain't any better. Are you having PMS? Are you stressed out? Why are you having such a BIG reaction? Anyways please do not bother to reply to this email, thanks.

Since you choose to leave and we have not treat you unkind, why don’t leave us in a better and good manner. Sad to see a person like you behave such a way.
LEAVING AND YET STILL NOT HAPPY? FOR WHAT?

I'm finally back! Back from where you might ask... no where exactly; Just back to post on my blog. Last week was short, but I didn't get to go anywhere. All getaway packages were snatched up, all air/ferry tickets fully booked and no hotel rooms available etc etc.
In a nutshell, my weekend was spent watching dvds: The Best Bet, Ghost In a Shell II - Innocence, Twin Effects II. Also completed Ninja Gaiden (XBox) & DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball. Oh ya, I also went to the motorshow at Suntec.. $10 for the entrance fee is quite acceptable .. but too bad I didn't managed to get tickets for the stunt show :( If any of you is going and need answer for the lucky draw (Prize: Subaru Impreza) just gimme a ring. If I feel like it I might tell you :p
Just kena shit today from the crazy woman. SMS-ed me why I took so long to do work at 10AM, so I text back "Need to reformat, need to reinstall, need to update, need to transfer files and need to make sure everything is working. fyi I didn't have time to had lunch because I had to go pick up stocks for you" (these were my exact words) and guess what was the reply.. "10q 4 yr detail info 4 2 days work done at 10am, I tink u forgot 2 add nd 2 go toilet if tat make u happier 4 d reply"
Not too sure what she means.. but I guess the crazy woman is either having PMS or she's sore that I'm leaving and she can't exploit me anymore. Whatever it is..FUCK YOU!! u crazy woman! _|_ and I'm not going to waste my time to reply to any of ur antics
Time to go watch tv.. adios~ Be back soon :)

Beware! 10 Most Dangerous Species of Help Desk Callers
Extracted from Jeff Dray's article in TechRepublic
Update - Today: Human nature being what it is, no matter how sophisticated users think they have become and no matter how much training users receive, there will always be these types of help desk calls.
During my years working in IT support, I've become more and more interested in the many types of people who call IT help desks. Like a biologist, I've found that having a classification system is critical in understanding the users that I help on a daily basis. It is with this in mind, and with my tongue in my cheek, that I've categorized users into the following species:
1. "The Expert" : Userus expertia
"The Expert" user is the curse of most IT support establishments. Experts try out something they heard about from "the bloke in the pub", an unqualified expert on everything who offers advice to anyone who will listen. Experts usually make a complete mess of their systems when they follow the bloke's advice. Then they compound the problem by trying to fix it themselves, often destroying their machines. As a last resort, they call the help desk and demand that their machines be replaced or mended immediately, as they have urgent work that can't wait. There has been an Expert at every place I've worked. I leave it to you to decide who your resident Expert is.
2. "The Fiddler" : Userus manipulata
The motto of "The Fiddler" is: "I wonder what happens if...". I've placed these callers next because they are the most closely related to the Expert. These callers don't realize that some files actually make their computers work. If they don't recognize a file as one of their own, they delete it and are surprised when something then stops working. Unlike the Expert, they don't say anything about the problem; you only discover it months later from a casual remark, such as, "Oh no, that hasn't worked for ages. I meant to call you." Fiddlers are usually very pleasant people -- who will drive you mad.
3. "The Mouse" : Userus rodentia
"The Mouse" is more common than the previous two and fortunately less harmful. For this species of caller, the big gray box is a source of blind terror. I can remember talking on the phone to a Mouse at a UK communications company. She had worked in a telephone exchange for years and was suddenly given a PC to help her. She had not asked for it and didn't want it. The screen was making strange noise, and she was concerned.
"I don't want it to explode or anything," she wailed.
"No," I said patronizingly, "they don't explode. There's no explosive in them."
Then I heard a loud "BANG!" through the phone.
"What was that?" I asked.
"My screen has just exploded." she replied.
4. "The Train Spotter" : Userus geekissimus
"The Train Spotter" is most often the offspring of an Expert and a Fiddler. These callers are usually harmless and don't have many computer problems. What they do is an IT magazine, which they have read from cover to cover. The Train Spotter will invariably corner an unsuspecting help desk tech and proceed to bore the tech rigid by sharing their knowledge. The main difference between Train Spotters and other callers is that Train Spotters do not usually phone the help desk, they visit in person.
I'm not quite sure what they want from the help desk, but they take up a lot of time asking various questions about new innovations, about which I usually know nothing. I have found no explanation for the existence of this user other than that the Expert and Fiddler conceived the Train Spotter on a trip to a computer trade fair.
5. "The Paranoid User" : Userus newbigata
"Paranoid Users" are convinced that the computer has an intelligence of its own and is out to get them. The machine is constantly doing something that causes a problem. The computer will maliciously alter their documents, obliterate all references to their passwords, and lose work they have saved. If a machine is ever going to break down, it will be while being used by a Paranoid. This species' one saving grace is determination. They never give up, as much as you wish they would.
6. "The I'm-building-a-case User": Userus fabricatum
"The I'm-building-a-case User" is grinding an axe to get some new gadget brought in to his department or have an old one taken away. They report hundreds of trivial problems, hoping upper management will buy them the latest all-singing and all-dancing machine. The real problem with this species of caller is the fact that they are usually not trying to replace computer equipment. This user doesn't see the difference between computers and any other piece of office equipment. I have often been required to pass opinions on all kinds of electrical equipment even after pointing out my lack of knowledge on the subject. I do not evaluate coffee makers. I do not drink coffee, and I know nothing about the black arts involved in its production.
7. "The Just-testing User": Userus gustulata
"The Just-testing User" is not even using a computer but wants to test your knowledge and, if possible, trip you up. The best technique for dealing with this species is by answering questions with "I don't know." They cannot deal with this straight capitulation. Most Just-testing users would love the chance to show your boss how useless you are or how little you know. They are thrilled when you give a wrong answer and will crow about it incessantly.
8. "Pig Pen": Userus perfumia
Based on the Charles M. Schulz Peanuts character, "Pig Pen" has the messiest, most unhygienic work area in the company. Pig Pen's personal hygiene is fine; it is only the workspace that is a hazard. It is a graveyard for old coffee cups, half-eaten green sandwiches, used Kleenex, and moldy sock collections. Pig Pens are some of the nicest and most technically able people you know. They usually give the help desk very little trouble except when their keyboard needs replacing, which is often. Pig Pen is a mainstay of most companies, the backbone of whatever department he or she works for. If that were not the case, the company would have let them go years ago.
9. "The I-don't-want-to-hear-that! User": Userus headinsandia
This is a rather curious species. They call, ask a question, and if they don't hear what they want, they take it personally. I always wonder why they ask, if they don't want to know the answer. It does not seem to matter that what they want is not possible. All they want is to hear the answer they're looking for.
10. "The End-of-my-tether User": Userus adlimitus
This is the angriest but, perversely, often the easiest to deal with. After spending weeks attempting to resolve their own queries, they finally swallow their pride and call the help desk. Calls from this type of user usually end in one of three ways:
The problem's solution can be found simply by reading page 1 of his instruction manual, which, of course, the caller has not done.
The caller is informed that the operation she is trying to perform cannot be performed with the equipment or software that she has.
The caller has already found a solution but phoned the help desk to let you know how frustrated, mad, or unsatisfied he is.
What do you think of Jeff's classification of help desk callers? Do you know users who fit these descriptions? Would you like to add a few categories to the list yourself? Post a comment and share it with everyone else :)

11. "The Stupid User": Userus stupidus - provided by Sam

This is funny
Sam just sent me this link via msn
http://jaimedays.blogspot.com
She's still trying to figure out whether the stories are true or what not.
As for me, i'm not interested in finding out.. I just read it for entertainment.
Guess the person writing those posts is either:
1) A p0rn scriptwriter wannabe (but still very bad it)
2) Some delusional poor soul (who does nothing but daydream)
3) A damn ugly & fat chick who's trying to have all the attention she needs (highly possible)
What say you?

Would you know how to answer this?
The following is an actual question given on a
University of Washington engineering mid-term.
The answer was so "profound" that the Professor
shared it with colleagues, and the sharing
obviously hasn't ceased...
Bonus Question: Is Hell
exothermic (gives off heat) or Endothermic
(absorbs heat)?
Most of the students wrote Proofs of their
beliefs using Boyle's Law,
(gas cools off when it expands and heats when it is compressed)
or some variant.
One student, however, wrote the following:
"First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is
changing in time. So we need to know the rate that
souls are moving into Hell and the rate they are
leaving. I think that we can safely assume that
once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave.
Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many
souls are entering Hell, let us look at the different
religions that exist in the world today.
Some of these religions state that if you are not
a member of their religion, you will go to Hell.
Since there are more than one of these religions
and since people do not belong to more than one
religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell.
With birth and death rates as they are, we can
expect the number of souls in Hell to increase
exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change
of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states
that in order for the temperature and pressure in
Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to
expand as souls are added. This gives two possibilities:
1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the
rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature
and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell
breaks loose.
2. Of course, if Hell is expanding at a rate faster
than the increase of souls in Hell, then the
temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes
over. So which is it?
If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa
Banyan during my Freshman year, "...that it will
be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you.",
and take into account the fact that I still have
not succeeded in having sexual relations with her,
then, #2 cannot be true, and thus I am sure that
Hell is exothermic and will not freeze."
This student received the only A.

This yr's lineup looks good... Hopefully PVD will pull together his act after his last album. Other than him, Timo Maas looks set to whip up a storm here in Sunny Island Singapore; so is Satoshi Tomiie and of cos, Seb Fontaine. Not much comments about the other DJs though.. But I think overall it should be a smash (as compared to the one last year).. now, should I go or should I not go.
On a lighter note, found this from Paul Van Dyk's Website ... think he's going everywhere.. including politics (isn't that a taboo for artistes?). Or he's doing it because someone paid him loads of cash? We won't know..

And if you refer 5 friends, they'll send you a free track!

Finally..
Oh well... it's confirmed.. I've tendered my resignation and I'll be a free man come december. If any of you have any job lobangs do let me know.. cos i still havent found a job yet.
Was at winebar just now.. packed as usual.. went up to Phuture for awhile to find jx,sam,ky,shuli n gang... fricking crowded... took me nearly 5 mins to go from one end to the other (no joke).. stayed there for prolly half an hr before I decide to go back to winebar to find my colleague (it was rather boring.. though they have nice hiphop n breakz but just couldn't stand the crowd). Saw some ex-tbwa staffs at winebar (darren, june and chin) and an "auntie" (think her name was Eileen) who used to freelance at tequila and currently at Band. A nice lady.. who doesn't appear to be as shy/old as she said she was.. and she kept on talking for like an hour or so (but it was somewhat entertaining). So basically that's it... lotsa booze, lotsa laughter and i'm sure going to miss it.
should be helping Din move some of her stuff from her hse to the new apartment.. just hope that I'll be able to wake up on time though it's not yet confirmed. Gonna be a lazy day tomorrow :p
No one's currently online.. princess is sleeping i think.. hope she can sleep well without having to use the pill. I think i'll go and sleep soon too.. see you ppl around.
Peace~

Just wanna dedicate 2 songs to you.. "Honey" and "Waiting For"... check out the lyrics if you can.. hope it'll perk you up (at least by a bit).. Don't waste your time waiting, esp if its too painful to hold on.
*Imagine yourself hanging by the edge of a tall building.. probably around the 3rd level. You can (1) try to hang on but it's nearly impossible for you to climb up to the top or (2) you can just let go and fall to the bottom; No matter which choice you decide, the most likely result would be you falling down. Choose (1), you'll eventually grow tired and can't hang on. Choose (2), you waste lesser time, let go, fall down and get hospitalised. And the earlier you will be able to move on.*
"Life is simply a matter of choice. You just gotto make yours and stick/live with it." - Setzer

Fresh out of the Oven!!!
A delight for the ears. A feast for the eyes. Though it's no bigger than a pack of playing cards and weighs in at just over 6 ounces, iPod Photo delivers a one-two sensory punch. Letting you carry an entire library of your favorite music — up to 15,000 songs — or enough photos — as many as 25,000 — to fill nearly 200 slide trays or cover nearly 5,000 square feet of wall space. Got a really big den?
The newest member of the iPod family, iPod Photo comes in two sizes: a 40GB model, available for $499, and a capacious 60GB model that sells for $599. Both feature a razor sharp LCD display that lets you see your photos in vivid color — 65,536 colors, to be exact. And with its built-in backlighting, you’ll be able to admire those photos indoors or out.
Take Your Photos for a Spin
Like its famous siblings, iPod Photo features the touch-sensitive Apple Click Wheel that's the envy of the industry. You'll use it to navigate iPod Photo's new menu. Now in living color, its easier to read than ever. That's thanks in part to the clarity of the display — it offers 220x176-pixel resolution — and in part to the new Myriad typeface. Spin the wheel to Music, and you can scroll effortlessly through dozens of playlists, hundreds of albums or thousand of songs.
Enjoy Improved Battery Life
Whether you’re on a transcontinental flight or an extra long hike, if you plan to listen to music for hours and hours, iPod Photo has you covered. Fully charged, it lets you enjoy up to 15 hours of continuous music; or up to 5 hours of continuous slideshows with music. Use the FireWire or USB 2.0 cables to quickly charge the batteries. Or use the iPod Photo Dock that comes with both 40GB and 60GB models

As an extra special treat, it includes an iTunes Music Store coupon you can use to get $50 off your purchase of “The Complete U2.” As unique as the iPod itself, this digital boxed set brings together an amazing 400 U2 tracks. Songs span the band’s celebrated career. From “Boy” to “War” to “The Joshua Tree” to “Zooropa” to the soon-to-be-released “How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb,” it includes every U2 album and brings us over 25 rare and unreleased tracks. Digitally Bohemian... with the new Bose series
CNET Rating: 8 out of 10
The good: Simple to set up and use; attractive design; sounds impressive compared to other iPod speakers; charges iPod while docked; includes basic remote.
The bad: Expensive; works only with iPods (and iPod Minis) equipped with a docking connector.
The bottom line: If you don't mind the high price, the SoundDock will turn your iPod into a nice bedroom or office stereo system.
Est. street price: S$539 (US$318.75)
Note: In Asia, the SoundDock will be available for purchase only through Apple stores and Bose showrooms.
Review:
The huge popularity of the iPod has given rise to a cottage industry of iPod accessories, including various speakers that help turn your iPod into a boombox. With Apple's blessing, Bose has entered the world of iPod with its SoundDock "digital music system," a S$539 (US$318.75) stereo speaker designed to work with dockable iPods.
Design
Bose's SoundDock is a compact and elegantly designed product that comes in just one color--white--though it works just fine with whatever color iPod Mini you might have. The speaker ships with adapters for the Mini and the various generations of iPod (the only incompatible models are the first two iPods, which lack the dock connector on the underside). You simply pop the adapter in the SoundDock's cradle, plug in the power cord, drop your iPod in the cradle (it's a digital connection), and you're good to go.
Also included in the box is a small, very basic, credit card-style remote that allows you to advance and rewind tracks on your iPod, control its volume, and shut off the unit (the iPod automatically turns on and the battery charges when you dock it).
Performance
The SoundDock performed better than we expected. It easily filled our 5.48 x 3.04m room with a big sound, but stereo separation was nada until we moved to a position within three feet of the speaker. The near-field sound also enhanced the little system's bass and treble definition.
A series of duets between jazz guitarist Charlie Hunter and drummer Bobby Previte on their Come in Red Dog CD sounded surprisingly live. Previte's bass drum had lots of kick, and his cymbals' crisp detail added to the realism of the sound. Hunter plays bass and guitar simultaneously on his eight-string instrument, and the SoundDock delineated every note. The Bose's richly balanced bass goes a long way toward mimicking the weighty presence of a larger speaker.
Rocking out with John Mellencamp's greatest hits once again proved the little system's stamina. Yes, a decent home-theater system will deliver even more satisfying sound and real stereo separation, but it will take up a lot more space than the little SoundDock. If you're considering Altec Lansing's InMotion microspeaker set, which also hosts iPods, that travel-friendly unit is almost half the price S$229 (US$135.42), but the Bose plays louder and has deeper bass and clearer treble.
Our biggest gripe with the SoundDock is its lack of inputs, which means that you can't connect anything to it besides an iPod. Ideally, a speaker accessory costing S$539 (US$318.75) would be a little more flexible. Also, it'd be nice if the SoundDock, like Tivoli Audio's iPAL, had a built-in rechargeable battery, making it a truly cordless speaker that you could place anywhere. That said, the Bose SoundDock is the best-sounding iPod speaker accessory we've tested to date, and it would be well suited for use in an office, a bedroom, or a small living room.

The long-awaited SoundDock from Bose! Get ready for even bigger sonic crunch time with your iPod or iPod Mini.

Whatever happened to our LCD monitor? We think it probably sneaked off to sulk in a corner.

Haven't had such a good laugh in a while.. though we had a bad start (was pouring heavily and we were drenched from head to toes and drinking away :) ). Oh well, shall not type too much now, need to go rest and later heading down to Levelz for a swim (I mean soak in the water). Will update again soon :)

Rant post:
"To know, is to know that you know nothing. That is the meaning of true knowledge; thus real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance."
"Form is emptiness, and emptiness is form."
"The process of practice is to see through, not to eliminate, anything to which we are attached. We could have great financial wealth and be unattached to it, or we have nothing and be very attached to having nothing. Usually, if we have seen through the nature of attachment, we will have a tendency to have few possessions, but not necessarily. Most practice gets caught in this area of fiddling with our environments or our minds. "My mind should be quiet". Our mind doesn't matter; what matters is non attachment to the activities of the mind. And our emotions are harmless unless they dominate us that is, if we are attached to them ---then they create dis-harmony for everyone. The first problem in practice is to see that we are attached. As we do consistent, patient zazen we begin to know that we are nothing but attachments; they rule our lives. But we never lose an attachment by saying it has to go. Only as we gain true awareness of its true nature does it quietly and imperceptibly wither away; like a sandcastle with waves rolling over, it just smoothes out and finally Where is it? What was it? - nothing."

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is the much anticipated sequel to Square's top selling game Final Fantasy VII. The sequel however will not be in the form of a game [like Final Fantasy X-2], but instead as a CG movie.
The movie will run for somewhere between 70 and 80 minutes and will be released on DVD and UMD [for the Sony PSP]. It will feature a total of 20 characters, including the popular Cloud and Sephiroth, and is being developed by Square-Enix in conjunction with Visual Works.
It is expected to be released in Japan at the end of 2004, with a US release to follow shortly after [first quarter of 2005]. No word on a European or Australian release has been made as yet.
More information on specific areas of the film can be found in the following sub-sections.

You are Form 9, Vampire: The Undying.
"And The Vampire was all that remained on
the blood drowned creation. She attempted to
regrow life from the dead. But as she was
about to give the breath of life, she was
consumed in the flame of The Phoenix and the
cycle began again."
Some examples of the Vampire Form are Hades (Greek)
and Isis (Egyptian).
The Vampire is associated with the concept of
death, the number 9, and the element of fire.
Her sign is the eclipsed moon.
As a member of Form 9, you are a very realistic
individual. You may be a little idealistic,
but you are very grounded and down to earth.
You realize that not everything lasts, but you
savor every minute of the good times. While
you may sometimes find yourself lonely, you
have strong ties with people that will never be
broken. Vampires are the best friends to have
because they are sensible.

American Gods by Neil Gaiman
Reposting a post by Gen,
You have no idea what I can believe...
I can believe things that are true and I can believe things that aren't true and I can believe things where nobody knows if they're true or not.
I can believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny and Marilyn Monroe and the Beatles and Elvis and Mister Ed.
Listen-- I believe that people are perfectable, that knowledge is infinite, that the world is run by secret banking cartels and is visited by aliens on a regular basis, nice ones that look like wrinkledy lemurs and bad ones who mutilate cattle and want our water and our women.
I believe that the future sucks and I believe that the future rocks and I believe that one day White Buffalo Woman is going to come back and kick everyone's ass.
I believe that all men are just overgrown boys with deep problems communicating and that the decline in good sex in America is coincident with the decline in drive-in movie theatres from state to state.
I believe that all politicians are unprincipled crooks and I still believe that they are better than the alternative.
I believe that California is going to sink into the sea when the big one comes, while Florida is going to dissolve into madness and alligators and toxic waste.
I believe that antibacterial soap is destroying our resistance to dirt and disease so that one day we'll all be wiped out by the common cold like the Martians in War of the Worlds.
I believe that the greatest poets of the last century were Edith Sitwell and Don Marquis, that jade is dried dragon sperm, that thousands of years ago in a former life I was a one-armed Siberian shaman.
I believe that mankind's destiny lies in the stars.
I believe that candy really did taste better when I was a kid, that it's aerodynamically impossible for a bumblebee to fly, that light is a wave and a particle, that there's a cat in a box somewhere who's alive and dead at the same time (although if they don't ever open the box to feed it it'll eventually just be two different kinds of dead), and that there are stars in the universe billions of years older than the universe itself.
I believe in a personal god who cares about me and worries and oversees everything I do.
I believe in an impersonal god who set the universe in motion and went off to hang with her girlfriends and doesn't even know that I'm alive.
I believe in an empty and godless universe of causal chaos, background noise, and sheer blind luck.
I believe that anyone who claims to know what's going on will lie about the little things too.
I believe in absolute honesty and sensible social lies.
I believe in a woman's right to choose, a baby's right to live, that while all human life is sacred there's nothing wrong with the death penalty if you can trust the legal system implicitly, and that no one but a moron would ever trust the legal system.
I believe that life is a game, that life is a cruel joke, that life is what happens when you're alive and that you might as well lie back and enjoy it.

Bits N Pieces
Sigh... it's Friday and as usual, I've nowhere to go. Time is really crawling when it gets nearer to 6pm... what shall I do later? Maybe pop down to HMV to see if I can get any CDs of Chitose Hajime? oh well, life suxx
-------------------------------------------------
Went to Cinenow yesterday evening to talk with one of the partners, think he's willing to offer me a job but the work he wants me to do for a start seem so BORING. As he explained to me, I'm required to come up with a checklist for setting up/ deployment of new dispenser machines and server. This part I think I should be able to manage but then he also wants me to do a proper documentation for the dispenser machines and servers (it was imported from Italy and didn't come with any documentations).. I thought I would be doing something more hands on, more technical stuff. Oh well, I've gotto start somewhere right? Maybe I'm just being fussy about all this.. maybe I just think too highly of myself. Anyways will have to go down again tomorrow afternoon for another round of talk. Geez, its just a job.. and all these talks never seem get me anywhere.. always the same questions asked, same things explained.. maybe they're just testing my patience.
I told 2 ppl at 10AM that I'm planning to resign and now it seems that everyone there knows about my plan.. heh can't wait to see my boss' reaction when he finds out about it from other ppl and not me.
So it's more or less settled, I'll tender my resignation the week after my birthday and then see if I can get this Cinenow job. If not, I've also made plans with my colleague (dunno if he's really going to tender also but from the way he sounds, think he's really tempted to leave as well) which is to quit together and join a competitor as freelance/full-time. So at least if the Cinenow job falls thru, I'll still have a backup. and not lying at home everyday doing nothing, totally no income at all.
-------------------------------------------------
Went HMV at citylink just now, found the Chitose Hajime album.. but it cost a whooping $69!!! *bling bling* !! I'll have to find other alternative ways to get this.. :(
-------------------------------------------------
Qn: How do you know when you don't like someone anymore?
Ans: When you can no longer look them in the eyes when you talk to them.
Happened to me just now, went dinner with a fren but realised that no matter what, I can never look her in the face when I talk to her.. not even during dinner. That's so bad.. guess I'll never go out with her again.

2046
THE ORIGINS OF THE MOVIE
What does the number "2046" mean?
In 1997, when Hong Kong returned to China, Hong Kong was told that
everything would remain unchanged for 50 years. 2046 would be the
last year of this promise. Director Wong was fascinated by the
promise and the number. He wondered what kind of love story it would be
if it were mixed with the number. He also asked himself what in this
world would remain unchanged. In our daily lives, when we fall in
love, we often ask ourselves, "Would he/she remain faithful?
Would I remain the same?"
The film 2046 begins with this number.
Directed by one of Hong Kong's most renowned filmmakers, Wong Kar Wai,
2046 is a co-production between the Shanghai Film Studio and Jet Tone
Films Ltd. According to director Wong, "The story for 2046 came to
me at the same time as we were working on IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE,
but while some of the characters have similarities, 2046 in not a
sequel." Continuing on he said,"In fact, the feelings and issues that
the characters in 2046 articulate and contend with are deeper and
more sincere requiring a different approach to portraying them. I
found that as I looked around and saw people I knew being in and out
of love, and others never being able to capture or recapture love,
something spoke to me."
"As I thought about what it meant to love and be loved, 2046 is what
came to me. 2046 is about a man who attempts to leave behind his past;
to bury that which he cannot forget yet the burden of what he has to
carry makes it almost impossible to move beyond what he has done and
seen. All of us in a conscious or unconscious way leave behind
memories in order to begin new lives. Some maybe do it only once;
others do it constantly. My film is about such a man whose love was
refused by a woman he loved. Subsequently he turned down the
love of another woman and lost a chance to begin again. He began
unconsciously and for various reasons to reject every new
opportunity to find love. It may sound trite but as we see in 2046,
love truly is a matter of timing."
SYNOPSIS
He was a writer. He thought he wrote about the future but
it really was the past. In his novel, a mysterious train
left for 2046 every once in a while. Everyone who went
there had the same intention... to recapture their lost
memories.
It was said that in 2046, nothing ever changed. Nobody knew
for sure if it was true, because nobody who went there had
ever come back - except for one.
He was there. He chose to leave. He wanted to change.

Overall, this show has got quite a good feel to it and I would recommend it to anyone who likes Wong Kar Wai's films. They've got a strong cast, good acting, nice costumes, nice music and good cinematography. A piece of advice, don't try to decipher everything in the show... just watch it normally, and try to enjoy the show. If you can't figure out everything, then wait for the DVD :) oh, did I forget to mention that it's a 2HR show...or slightly longer? Part of it might be a little draggy due to the story going back and forth and shots focusing on certain characters but I guess we could overlook these minor flaws :p
A comment which I find worth reading:
Date: 30 September 2004
Summary: strong start, but weak finish gets lost in 2046
In 1999, when Wong Kar Wai began shooting SUMMER IN BEIJING, word was already going around that he was at the same time starting work on a film with the working title 2046. Through the grapevine, it was rumored that 2046's plot revolved around Hong Kong 50 years after the 1997 handover. When China announced to the world she was going to reclaim the former British Colony (owing credit to the infamous Opium war and assorted atrocities in the 1800's), it also declared that Hong Kong was to remain sovereign for the first 50 years after the handover. This made for a world of opportunities for Wong Kar Wai to explore and create, for the 6.5 million population in the city were constantly being bombarded by discussions and debates of HK's future on television and assorted media.
2 years later, China becomes a much more viable market for film distribution to the outside world. Film industrialists around the world starts making sure subject matters won't be deemed subversive to China's film board... this continues today.
5 years down the road, SUMMER IN BEIJING never went anywhere, IN THE MOOD OF LOVE (2001) became Wong's trophy picture that shined above all his previous work... that is, until CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON (2001) came along and upstaged Wong both at the Academy Awards, as well as that year's Hong Kong film awards.
What happened to 2046 then? What happened to the cast that supposedly had Bjork starring alongside Maggie Cheung, Tony Leung, Fei Wong, and Japanese pop idol (yet a well qualified actor) Takuya Kimura? What happened to the plot about Hong Kong 50 years after the Turnover back to China?
Pushing all the above aside, I step back into 2046 - the 2004 version, which I'd just watched last night. The film opens with Takuya Kimura's voice over detailing his visit to 2046, and being the only one who has ever decided to leave. He is the lone passenger on the train back to a time which he does not specify. We know there are androids on the train who are either servants to the lone passenger, or perhaps they are en route to their own time as well... we don't know, and it doesn't matter.
The 60 minutes that follow are, to my delight, just as good as any other of Wong's best work in drawing the audience into a world of mystique romantic melancholy. We find out Takuya Kimura the passenger is a fictitious character penned by Tony Leung's character Chow Mo-Wan - a reprise and continuation to the storyline so well built-up in IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE (2001). To make a long story short, his rendezvous with Maggie Cheung in IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE (2001) pushed him into a state of longing for something that "could have been" but never went further than a few intimate moments in the room 2046. Leung's character goes through a series of women in an attempt perhaps to free himself of the pain of having lost Maggie Cheung, which as I would deduce, was at best unrequited love, and if nothing else, the first of the series of affairs he would have after he finds out his wife has left with another man.
In the first act, Tony runs into LuLu (Carina Lau), they have another one of these platonic moments at her room discussing how she's been searching for her true love - a bird with no legs. I must say as a fan of Wong's DAYS OF BEING WILD (1990), I was delighted to see an attempt to actually link these scenes and characters back to a movie he made more than 14 years ago. He even uses the same music made so famous by DAYS OF BEING WILD (1990). Leung's voice-over explains how he first met Lulu back in Singapore. She was a dance-hall girl working there after failing to find her boyfriend - a Chinese man of Filipino descent.
If you've watched DAYS OF BEING WILD (1990), you'll know what I'm getting at. But I'll stop that point here... In any case, I loved this part.
Moving on, we find out Fei Wong is the hotel owner's daughter who's staying at 2046. Tony Leung returns to Hong Kong after another failed fling with gambler BLACK WIDOW (Gong Li)... which by the way is one of the weakest plot-points/links in the film. Leung goes back to the hotel hoping to live in the same room (2046), hoping to relive his memories with Maggie Cheung. The room is now inhabited by Fei Wong, and Leung moves into 2047. It is here at the hotel where he befriends Fei Wong and learns of her father's condemnation of her relationship with Japanese businessman Takuya Kimura. Kimura hopes Fei would leave with him back to Japan... I must say these scenes show us some of the Takuya Kimura finest moments on the silver screen. Members of the audience, and probably fans of Kimura, were actually ooohing and oowing all over the house. Contrary to previous reports of how his screen time is negligible, I must argue that it's not the "duration," but the quality of his scenes and performance that makes his part shine.
Btw, something must have happened between Cheung and Wong Kar Wai. They shot so much, but she's in 3 shots... I speculate some dispute must have taken place to cause this.
Back to the story... Leung meets Zhang Ziyi - another tenant at the hotel who also goes through men like Wong Kar Wai with film stock. They meet, and she ends up falling for him... but only to be rejected.
The rest of the story revels around Leung's flashbacks of Zhang, Gong Li, Fei Wong, and his continuation of the novel 2046, which upon collaboration with Fei Wong (also an aspiring writer in the movie), is later named 2047.
The first half of the movie is fantastic, and serves as a great example of cinema in its most romantic yet subtle form. Visually breath-taking shots, good dialogue, and great music... But what happens toward the last 1/3 of the movie becomes a contrived patchwork of montages, soundbite vignettes that leads us nowhere. I for one, never would argue that a film or story could not close with an open-ending. But this one is just NOT IT. As a fan of Wong's previous work (not including FALLEN ANGEL (1995), that is), and even the most loyal fanatic of IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE would think of the last 1/3 of the movie as convoluted and incomplete like a screening of Wong's daily rushes (if he practices this, that is).
At one point of the story, Leung sends his completed draft of 2047 - the novel, to Fei Wong. Fei Wong writes back with the comment, "the ending is too sad. Can you try to change it to a happier ending?"
We see Leung trying to start with the revision.
This is where I, if ever I had the chance of working with Wong Kar Wai, would suggest:
Keep the scene with Tony Leung trying to write, cut the Intertitles showing passage of time, use all the shots of the women and people Tony Leung have come across and created in the time and moments that affected him, keep the Zhang Ziyi scene at the end, cut the Gongli scene at the end, and close with the movie showing Leung start to write, but on a different sheet of paper, with a smile... He is writing a letter to Fei Wong.
a soundbite from Maggie Cheung's character wouldn't hurt in the above sequence.
Voice-over: "I guess some things just cannot be changed... even in fiction... because I no longer know what it is I have lost."
side-shot of Tony Leung putting the book manuscript back in the envelope. He is smiling as he writes... fade to black.
something like that... or anything but what's there now.

Eat Shit & Die you Biatch!! :D
Read the poor english and have a good laugh (Not as if mine is damn good, but I try my best to make mine sound as normal as possible, not broken :p)
Don't understand why such ppl can't seem to see the truth behind it all.. SHE is the ROOT of the problem. I sure didn't claim much last year. And I sure didn't want to argue with ignorant ppl. She's the one who's being mental and always creating unnecessary stress/problems for us. Oh well, I'm not going to waste anymore time with her. Shall tender my resignation at the end of this mth. Oh, just so you know.. I haven't been getting any increment nor AWS/bonuses since 2002. *pathetic* >_< And I start work late to justify my working hrs vs my pay :P hehe
Anyways I think that I'll be better off working as a freelancer or working in other company. Wish me all the best in my job search!
...Since we have such a list of pending uncomplete job, also customers may think otherwise our service getting worst. Therefore I would appreicate if you guys can be puntual for work (meaning starting work 10:30am or earlier if possible, not leaving house only at 10:30am or later)... and also please make morning appt start at 10:30 not later. In order for we to accept and be prepared for new orders taking in, let start early and be puntual, if we continue start later and finish at 6pm or.... later, how much work can we finish.
Our business and income come from services, when people come to us, they need the computer urgently and need our service immediately, if we can't do it (due to we have pending jobs to be done). There are so many ppl like us in the market and are willing to take the service, so why wait for us for 1 or 2 or later date. Please also note that not everybody will keep waiting for us patiently (there are also people like us out there with much better service). Market are bad, everybody are fightly and rush for the same piece of cake, if you are fast and good the cake is yours. Please help us to help you keep your employment, since last year the income come in only pays both of you salary and CPF excluding your claims. There is no reasons, why should I keep the company just only to keep job for both of you. Why should I work so hard and I have to grumble so much, pushing you guys so much and dislike by me being so "meow". I think since the last 1 or 2 years, I now have enough of all these nagging and pushing and aruging (neither me like to do that to cause high blood pressure and stress for myself) and it since only myself and Daniel fighting, seriously I can't fight or win a war without supporting and appreciated troops.
Therefore your understanding is greatly appreciated and thank you for your co-operation.

No Subject
This is damn crappy... it's already 1 week past October and my big day is coming up in another 16 days. Haven't even thought of what I'm going to do, who to call, and where to go. Argh.. my initial plan is to have a drinking session on Friday(22nd) and Dinner on Sunday(24th) mainly because mushroom won't be back till Saturday nite from HKG.
On a lighter note, I found my old webbie!!!! It was done in 1997 (I think..?) and later shifted to geocities in 2001 but I totally forgot about it until yesterday when I was fumbling thru yahoo for online storage space and found that it still exists and is still online.. hahaha.. happy yah? Damn simple n darn ugly... still remembered learning about HTML online and typing out the codes, line by line in notepad. Don't laff when you see it ok? Not everyone can churn out good work on their first attempt and considering the standards at that time (basic html n frames), I think it's good enough for any beginner oredi :D
http://www.geocities.com/setzer24/photos.html
Looking at those photos really brings back the memories.. some crossed paths with me and disappeared soon after. Some are still around but seldom see each other while some gave me heartaches. Overall, they're memories which I'll treasure ;)
Mushroom sounds sad tonight.. she's got lotsa things on her mind and is feeling shitty and doesn't know how to solve them. I wanna be of help but she's reluctant to tell me her problems.. how? Guess I'll just have to slowly lead her to tell me everything. K, that's enough for tonite.. will update again soon
Peace

What's your Colour?

You are purple. What a romantic person you are.
You're sentimental and forward-looking (those
are opposites.). You're a sophisticated and
refined--with a refind taste for chocolates and
wine (yum...). Tempermental and moody, you let
people know when you're angry. But other
times, you just sit and sulk. Alone. When
around people, you're a generous person, with
insatiable needs. You're a starving artist,
basically. You're enjoy getting into debates
over politics and religion with people of the
same intelligence of you. But you know they
can never convince you otherwise, you stubborn
person, you. As a unique person you are (not
to mention just a tad bit eccentric...), you're
well-liked by either a few people, or too many
people...
What color are you? (Amazingly detailed & accurate--with pics!)

The Art of T-Shirt Folding
This is even better than those folding devices which boasts of folding your clothes in under 5 seconds. But I guess the secret technique below is only applicable to T-shirts -_-;
Start by laying the Tshirt flat and sideways in front of you, neck opening to your right. Find the centerpoint on the far side and pinch it with your left hand, about two inches in from the far edge.
With your right hand, draw a line from your left hand to the right edge of the tshirt, parallel to the edge of the shirt. This brings your right hand to the neck-opening side of the shirt. Grasp the edge with your right hand.
Now while maintaining your grip, cross your right hand over your left, towards the opposite (waist-opening) end of the tshirt. Maintain the same imaginary line you've been working on (about two inches from the far edge of the thsirt, parallel to the edge) and add the new edge to the grasp of your right hand.
This is where the magic happens. Simply uncross your hands and extend them in front of you, lifting the shirt perpendicular to the floor.
Complete the fold by letting the loose arm hole drop to the floor and folding the shirt in half over it!
Breathe deeply and contemplate the terrible beauty you have wrought.
If the written instructions seem too complicated, you can also watch a video here.

Arghhhh!!!!
Fuck FUck FuCk FucK FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last night, my computer went blank for no apparent reason.. I mean the monitor's working fine (I've tested it) but nothing shows up on screen.
I guess there's only 2 possiblities now:
1) My graphic card is spoilt
OR
2) My mainboard is screwed
I really hope it's the first one, cos my previous experience with exchanging/replacing mainboard took more than 2 months! Can you believe it? And it was supposed to be fast already considering the amount of emails and phonecalls I've been shooting at the "friendly" people at corbell.. they're goddamn "helpful" I would say.. -_-;
So anyways, I managed to fix up a spare comp for temporary usage but I feel that it's sooooooooo slow (Pentium III 866Mhz) compared to the current one (Pentium 4 2.66Ghz) *Sigh* shall not complain too much now, will have to go office tomorrow and take back my spare graphic card to test it... really hope it'll work *cross fingers*!!
This morning was din's ROM day. Woke up late (due to fixing up of my spare comp) and was nearly late becos the blur taxi driver missed the turn before Funan. But luckily I managed to arrive on time.. 1153hrs to be exact (their appointment was at 1155hrs). After that, went inside.. watch them exchange their vows, put on their rings, pronounced Mr & Mrs Cheng and then took a few photos and went down to Regent Hotel to have buffet. Then we ate for almost 3hrs before deciding to go to Centrepoint to look at curtains. After which, more walking.. window shopping.. Tangs Studio was having some sale and Mango got new clothes.. in the end, sat down at coffeebean for a drink with jackson, his sister, din and amy.
Lastly it was down to Dempsy Road to look at furnitures and jackson's sis wanted to eat durian (she thinks of me as her durian buddy ?!? Cos when she asked me whether I eat durian or not and I said yes, and she went like,"oh great! finally found someone to eat durian with me!!" (double DUH) not that I've a craving for durians anyway.. but I shall not be rude. In the end, turns out that the stall at Dempsy Rd wasn't open *phew* and so we went home. Hah.. I guess I really summarized todae's events quite well... shall go for dinner now, can't stand this spare comp.. blardy slowwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!
