Oscar highlights

Overheard during Sunday night's 77th annual Academy Awards presentations at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre:

"They like to say there's over 100 stars out tonight. No there's not. There's only four real stars. The rest are just popular people. Clint Eastwood is a star. That's a star. ... Tobey Maguire is just a boy in tights." — Oscar host Chris Rock in his opening monologue.

"I want to thank everybody and anybody who ever had anything at all to do with the making of this picture. But I especially want to thank Clint Eastwood for giving me the opportunity to work with him again." — "Million Dollar Baby" supporting actor winner Morgan Freeman, who previously co-starred in Eastwood's "Unforgiven."

"It was so much love that was hidden underneath the bottom of the earth in America and all over the world for Ray Charles. We cracked it open with this movie and now it's spilling out everywhere." — Jamie Foxx, who played Ray Charles in "Ray," as he walked into the Kodak Theatre.

"It's a great night tonight. We have four black nominees tonight. It's kinda like Def Oscar Jam tonight." — Chris Rock.

"Thank you to the academy who know Katherine Hepburn so well and are so intimately acquainted with her work. This is an indescribable surprise." — Supporting actress winner Cate Blanchett, for "The Aviator."

"I'm an environmentalist for life." — Leonardo DiCaprio, who was among a cadre of celebrities who shunned stretch limousines and rode to the Oscars in fuel-efficient vehicles as part of the "Red Carpet-Green Cars" campaign.

"If he hires you, he hires you because he feels like you know what to do. And he's very, very largely out of the way. He directs the picture; you do the acting. I love that, and I think that most of the people that he works with love that. I think that's why he gets what he gets." — Oscar-winner Morgan Freeman on "Million Dollar Baby" director Clint Eastwood.

"They tell me now that SpongeBob is gay. SquarePants is not gay. Tight pants maybe. SpongeBob Hot Pants? You go, girl!" — Presenter Robin Williams, mocking those who connect cartoon characters with pro-gay messages, before presenting the best animated feature Oscar.

Your Hidden Power Is Water

You have a rather calm soul, but when tempted
will get pissed off at those who bug you. You
do whatever you can in your powers to help
those of your allies and have a okay taste for
human kind, but you find them rather annoying
on occasions.

Gem Stone: Sapphire, Eye Color:Ice
Blue,Hair Color:Dark Blue that's long
that goes to your waist.

Quote:If you wait for me
Then I'll come for you. Although I've travelled
far, I always hold a place for you
In my heart. If you think of me, If you miss me
once in a while, Then I'll return to you. I'll
return and fill that space in your heart

What is the center of your dark core?

HASH(0x8e6f95c)
Your dark side is centered around Hopeless Faith. A
shattered broken heart holding its last breath,
searching for its salvation in a cold world.
All you want is a sweet loving heart, touchs
your hand and holds you in their arms,
promising you they will love you forever, so
you can feel that the whole world is revolved
around the both of you only, no more sorrow or
regret, just love. You will find what you want
when you believe in yourself and when you start
making your life with your own hands.

"Constantine... John Constantine"

Sound familiar? Just caught it in the afternoon at Tampines Mall. It's not bad at all, but I felt it could have been better...its just not dark enuff.

Anyways went to walk around tampines central... alot of changes. Now the top level of TM has an open air area...OOoh Not to mention there's also Gelare now :D~

And at Century Sq, most of the shops were given a face lift.. but what's the most amazing thing is that I found a "Record your own CD" store on the upper most level of CS. Its a place where you can "sing" and they'll record it into a cd, voila! you have ur own ALBUM. Call me sceptical but I really think it's just another rip-you-off gimmick... Place 2-3 partitions in the store and you get 3 rooms... each complete with ONE mic, and probably a computer + a mixer. Other than that... its as cheap as it looks. Oh well, i guess some ppl just wanna get a kick out of it.. those who are too shy to go take part in singing contests or those who simply cannot make it... all at a price of $38/CD.

Now now... i need to go upload my photos and also clear some emails. I'll be back~

  • Top 10 problems with the Microsoft Home of the Future

Tucked away in New York's trendy Tribeca neighborhood, there's a spectacular piece of 21st century PR called the Microsoft Home of the Fugure. We're intrigued by the concept, but we imagine living in an all-Microsoft dwelling place might have its drawbacks, including the following:

    1. Unfriendly
Doormat says "Start" instead of "Welcome".

    2. Infectious Outlook
Everyone in your family keeps contracting nasty viruses. Oddly, the neighbors in the Linux house never seem to get sick.

    3. Burglar Magnet
Your home's architecture is riddled with hidden holes, back doors, and other security flaws.

    4. Overpriced
Whenever you visit a foreign country such as Russia or China, you see houses that look exactly like yours but find out people bought them on the black market for a fraction of what you paid.

    5. No Doors
    Only windows.

    6. Network Neighborhood
You can't share your home with anyone else. Every member of your family must bring his or her own house and then network it with yours.

    7. Dirty Dishes
Microsoft doesn't offer drivers for your new dishwasher.

    8. Fine Print
You must register your home with Microsoft within 30 days of purchase, or else the house will lock you out and void your warranty.

    9. Slow and Unsteady
It takes forever to back up the drive, and then you crash.

    10. One Word
    Mice.
